I wonder how EURO will put a negative spin on this ride, lol
Expect something as lame as...
'The American Landis rode OK and managed to put in an OK time, although I suspect Kloden, Pereiro, Sastre and McEwen expected him to crack at the finish and took it easy for the first hour i.e. if Kloden had dropped back and helped Sastre and Periero in a 3 man TTT, this could never have happened - poor tactics again, I know this because of all the pros I hang out with, plus read the interviews, plus I've ridden that same course in the very big ring in 1:06'.

Yeah, I don't have the TV feed, but there is a guy on another forum claiming to be friends with Axel Merckx and he just got off the phone with him, and that's what Axel had told him.
Floyd's da man!
I bet he cracks a beer going into Paris tomorrow! No hoity-toity champaigne drinking and clinking glasses. It's a brewsky for him. :D

Yes, the video was from the Helicopter at the point, but you could see the motorbike about 2 feet behind Sastre with a big microphone pointed at the rear wheel.
The discs are hollow, so they "rumble" along, at speed there is whooshing kind of echo in them. It's one of the Beautiful things in cycling to experience. Feeling strong like bull on a TT and hearing that Disk rumbling underneath you.

I see , do they produce that kind of sound at low speed too? Or only at a certain speed and above?
Why the heck did they skip the yellow jersey presentation to talk to Robbie? Sure, they showed it later, but dang... show the presentation first, then yap after.

they make a very good product, priced right as well, it is a special event wheel only, and while it seems durable, its a honeycomb material, and can be dented somewhat easily if hit.

Exactly - I'm stuck in a hotel with no OLN, so this and the live feed from VeloNews are a lifeline.
Heck of a TT by Ekimov - 7th-best, from one of the oldest guys ever on the tour.
I assume a 59-second lead for Floyd means tomorrow's stage will be ceremonial concerning the yellow.

Congratulations to Landis on a truly exciting and kick@ss TdF.
Also congrats. to Oscar for winning and holding the Maille Jaune for as long as he did and putting in his best time trial effort ever. He deserves second place on the podium. And Kloden deserves his third place spot for his terrific time trial.
Michael "Skeleton" Rasmussen gets the KOM. Robbie gets the Green, Cunego takes the White.

That is completely different. Being a great climber doesn't necessarily mean great on a hilly TT. Nor does being great on a flat TT mean they will be great on a hilly TT. It is quite unique.
Though his form, combined with his recent TT and climbing form, does suggest a hilly TT will suit him more than his rivals. You never know though.
I'm so damn excited!!!!!!!
Please Landis, don't mess up. Don't crash. Don't dehydrate. Don't overheat. Don't have a mechanical failure  ... even if I wasn't cheering for him at the start of the Tour, I'd have to be today after his unbelievable comeback.
I'm about 98% sure that there are not any time bonuses.
No time bonus. Floyd was 6th last year behind Armstrong, Ullrich, Vinokorov, Jullich, and Basso on a much hillier final time trial than this.
Not to bring the mood down but I can't figure out why people feel the need to be a color commentator?
Aspirations of being the next Bobke or Phil.
Maybe we would be better served with a seperate stage color commentating thread from the stage discussion thread.
