My folding bike usage is mainly to bring the bike inside my car on short or long road trip.

I hate getting stain on the floor mat.

What do you suggest as low cost bike bagging solution (Dahon Speed)?

Regular garbage bag would need to be replaced often so it is a no no.

Other type of big enough bag to keep my car clean and protect bike a little bit when i bring 2?

I could sew one but i'd like a faster solution.

The Dimpa bag from Ikea is obscenely cheap, strong enough to take a spare wheel & should be big enough to take your Dahon

Not big enough. Would have been perfect.

I think it is big enough for a Brompton.

I think Dahon is now making their own bike bags, no idea if it'll be in stock any time soon though.

Are you putting it in the trunk or back seat?

If the floor is all you need to protect, what about a rubber floor mat? It'll be cheaper, tougher and easier to store. I hope your bike doesn't leak fluids when folded. ;)

I have a Dimpa bag, but I use it only for my Brompton. But that does not exclude other maker's bags to be used for bagging a Dahon. My 20" Boardwalk has several bags that I use for it as well as the Brompton. I go to a local 99 cents store, a cheap luggage retailer (like a discount department store such as Target), places that have a laundry bag with a drawstring,-anywhere that offers storage like for home closets, travel, or sporting type of stuff. I look for a large opening (at least 30 or so inches), quick closure (drawstring, zippers and the like), and could be any fabric just as long as it is tightly or firmly woven weave.

I recommend that you buy a bag for each bike. Then line it inside the bag with cardboard or other strong packing items. The bikes could rub against each other and cause dings in your paint job or worse, loosen or even pull out a cable or damage another bike part. Plus it is easier to arrange them inside the car plus put in or pull out the bikes if they are separate from each other-no heavy 50+ pound total lifting.

Please let us know what happens.

Usually in the trunk BUT since the trunk is not deep but high, i could damage backseat, floor or car side with an unbagged bike. It could go on seat (folded seat tough) when camping (we need room for everything we need).

And it doesn't leak!!!!

Great suggestions folder fanatic. I will try Walmart and Dolloram locally.

You are right about getting 2 bags and lining it.

In fact i was thinking about getting a bag built for me since a few years. I was thinking double wall and inserting cardboard to stiffen it. It could even be used for travelling. Easy to get cardboard when time to come back. I have seen something similar on Gaerlan website but not double walled.
