Hi all,
Living here in Minnesota it has been over two weeks since I have been able to get my road bike out. Yes there are people riding but I get this paranoid feeling my Giant carbon will somehow shatter below 10 degrees.
So, after -9 degrees, today's 27 seemed downright balmy. The falling snow just a slight a challenge, so I piled on a bunch of clothes and got the mountain bike out.
It was actually kind of fun, though I had overloaded the clothes and was hot halfway through. The first time I had ever ridden in snow...new challenges. The only proof that it was indeed cold was my runny nose and frozen camelbak nozzle. Oh, and the computer's numbers turning alien on me.
Had a bit of a wreck because my pants were too baggy. Stood up to hammer on the ice and pants caught the chainring, ripped to shreds and threw me 'slo-mo' into the snow-covered ditch. Besides a bruised pride and now a new pair of shorts, I was fine. I was on a bike trail, so no viewers, thank god.
So anyway, just wanted to share. I think I'm addicted to cycling. Something about the speed and the endorphines. And I just refuse to lose my fitness to this friggin' state.
Supposed to get cold again, so back to the STUPID trainer and weights. Grrr.
See ya.
