Hello, I've just riding much more again after the birth of my son. I've been commuting to work most days of the week, but I used to road race (early 90's) so I'm far from the fitness level I used to be. It's important to me to get back into shape, and being overweight with a new family, it's also important that I set a good example for them.
I'm also newly vegan (do not eat any animal products), partly for ethical reasons but also for health/fitness reasons. After taking on the new diet I feel much more energetic. It's also helped me start losing weight. Some vegans are very militant about their lifestyles; I am not. I only speak of it when people ask about it. I talk more about it on my web site, but it is a personal choice for me and that's it; I don't ride with only vegans, for example.
My goals are to race again in the Masters category, lose 30 pounds or so (not specific), and get back in racing shape. I have quite a bit of experience racing and riding, and I hope to share it with others and learn some new things as I go along in the community.
