Introductions - From the "Land of 10,000 Lakes"...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Egads - can you ride a bike up there at this time of year? If you can, do you?
Welcome to the forums!
Peace,
Lou

cycletourist - aah yes, winter and mosquitoes...keeps the riff-raff away....well, some of it anyway. ;)
amerpie - I see a few bikes during the winter, mostly kids goofin on the snow with their BMX bikes, I don't take mine out until it's nice and warm...(over 50 degrees). :D
Hey Triker, how did the Habitat 500 go last summer?? The kids and I made a trip into town on the day you all came through... saw some uprights and a couple of recumbents, but no trikes. Our local paper had a picture of two of the riders, one on a recumbent, and one on a trike, on the front page. Maybe you? A while back I asked about the Habitat Ride (on that other board), and e-mailed the picture to you (a 'hotmail addy', I think), but shortly after, the thread was contaminated by trolls, and was deleted as part of the "moderator" implementation. So if you received a picture, with no message, and were wondering where in the heck it came from....
Thanks for the welcome!!

Hi Ellen, woohoo, somebody knows me! I'm a little surprised, I don't post a whole lot, and it seems when I do, the thread immediately drops off to page 3. I was thinking of changing my username to "threadkiller".
So what's the scoop on this board?? Seems like a nice place.
Hey trekguy --
I got the pic, but it was not of me :( There were a couple other guys who rode home built trikes, and the pic was of one of them.
The Habitat 500 went very well, and I am riding it again this year. It starts in Duluth and goes through Moose Lake, Brainerd, Walker, Grand Rapids, Vurginia, and back to Duluth.
This is a nice board. A person who shall remain nameless posts here--same posts we see elsewhere--but the moderator quenches the flames pretty quickly. You'll see many familar names here.
Pretty icy down here the past couple days. I am doing a lot of swimming and treadmill running, as well as some trainer miles, this winter.
From one Minnesota-nt to another, Welcome! So what is that now, 10 strong and counting? ;)

Hey! I'm a newbie from Minnesota. I wish it would get above freezing so I can ride. I have a rule, it must be over 50 degrees to ride. What do you expect, I am originally from California :-)
