Introductions - Hey from Pittsburgh, PA

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi All!
Just joined BF a few days ago. I've been a serious rider for six years. I enjoy both road and trail riding as well as touring. Do many rides in the tri-state area with my local club, but I'm looking to expand my treks further. Thought BF would be a good place for networking and information.
See you in the saddle!

Welcome and good luck on your touring/treking plans.

Also a big welcome to you. I'm sure you'll be able to learn a great deal here.
Welcome to the forum, looking forward to reading your posts
Hey, I'm about 45 miles to your south. I also ride the road and the trails in the area. I love Hartwood Acres and Frick, but I ride primarily in the Laurel mountains including Seven Springs, Ohio Pyle, Bear Run, Roaring Run, Hidden Valley, Lynn Run State Forest and Quebec Run (close to Uniontown). I also like Coopers Rock in WV.
It's nice to see another SW PA rider on board - welcome!!!
:)
Welcome to the Forums. I'm a little farther north, but I hear the trails in your parts are great.

Hey Metal Cowgal.
So what do you do for the pedaling blues during Winter?
Or are you like my one spinning instructor and mountainbike right through the Winter?

Hi Jim
Pedaling blues is right!!! Now I see why you've taken to sitting naked in the snow :p
We've been so spoiled the past few years -- it's been possible to ride all winter long. I thought I went on to heaven on Monday -- went for a road ride in 47 degrees. It was awfully overcast, but wearing blue blocker sunglasses made the world a happy, sunny place...at least for a couple of hours!
I usually work out at the (stinky) gym and ride outside as weather permits.
Do you have a suggestion(s) for good spin classes in the 'Burgh?
Mary Ann
