I'm from west central NM and I'm primarily a mountain bike rider.
We have some nice old unmaintained mining roads locally and some "interesting" forest service roads. A bit further south there is some good single track.
I've done some bike-packing here at home and one short tour of the sandhills region of Nebraska and the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Love riding in Moab and try to sneak up at least twice a year.

My sister lives in Ruidoso, and I have done a little riding there.
Also, I have ridden the Santa Fe Century - a great ride.

You live in beautiful country! I spent many happy years of my life in Silver City roaming around from Reserve to Animas.
