General Cycling Discussion - Lo-ok Wha-at I got!

Sorry I don't mean to brag but I'm soooo stoked about this bike. I travel a fair bit and the frame came with the Delux Break-Away bag. 10.5kg INCLUDING the bag!!!!

Just finished the build... well almost... waiting for an un-branded black American Classic 420 wheelset... and, yes the cable need to be sorted out on the front.

I noticed your saddle slightly sloping down in front. You prefer it like that? Some do, some don't. Some honestly don't realize it. Just curious.

It only looks like it's sloping because it's in a stand without the front wheel elevated.

I like a level saddle. The stand makes it look like it's sloping to the front... but, I haven't done the final adjustments yet so it could be slightly off.

I thought for sure it was going to be a Look frame. You had me. But I like it. Good job.

You might want to reconsider using the bag. One of my friends has a steel Breakaway and complains that the drailleur hanger keeps getting broken off when he has used the bag on an airplane.

LOL that was my first concern when I packed the bike. The solution is much simpler that changing the bag. I took the RD off (cables still connected), wrapped it in bubble wrap and taped it to the foam protection sleeves I use for the stays. I also make sure the bag has "fragile" stickers and tags and if the airport has a different check-in for large and fragile items I use that too.

Leave your garage open around 1130 tonight, and I'll be by to pick it up.

Hate to say it but my Stock standard Giant SCR comes in at 19lbs. And it was a lot cheaper than yours but looks it aswell.

Nice bike but when do we get to test ride it for you. Can't see any dirt or scratches on it yet so you obviously don't have the time to ride it. And its a new bike. All those tight bearings to run in. all the cables to adjust and then theres the sorting out for fit- You pay the carriage, ship it to me and I'll run it in for you-F.O.C. Only problem is that it might take a couple of months to fully sort it.

You probably don't want to mark it fragile. They'll just toss it harder.

Acutally its 2.5lbs lighter... the weight I gave includes the bike bag. Subtract another pound when I change the wheels. I can also get all my bike clothes (including winter stuff), tools, shoes and helmet in the bag as well

I meant his reference to his being cheaper when I said more.:D It wasn't cheap that's for sure. But apart fronm the frame, which I got a online at a pretty good price, everything else was sourced from specials and auctions.

If I had some spare cash, I'd get one. Saw this on the bay today, Perfect in size. Same frame licensed out. Anyone seen a hard case, people complain of airlines laying the bag down and stacking other bags on it. Make sure you label the bag as to which way it needs to be on the plane.
