Or, bad, for that matter. I have some MKS touring pedals I was thinking of putting on my forthcoming Swift but these caught my eye.

obviously I like them a lot .. thats why I am selling them .....
I really like the idea of having them on both of my bikes, that way I can switch back and forth with tennis shoes versus bike shoes with cleats
They also work great with powergrips ...
Only one deal I dont like .... when you install them ..you cannot use a regular thick pedal wrench to tighten them... there is not enough room.
You need to take one or two thin cone wrenches ( 15 mm )

Thor, thanks for the response. Those look like the "quick release" pedals on your site. I was talking about the ones that actually fold, such as the FD-2

Deosn't MKS make an actual folding pedal in addition to the quick release pedals that Thor is describing? I think they do. No experience with them but the MKS quick release pedals are great in my book. I currently ahve three different styles. The promenades are two sided cage/platform pedals that work great with powergrips. I ahve a nother cage platform pedal that is one sided. works great with power grips but the back side of the pedal is not usable as it's not flat. Finally I have the cleated EZcubes but I ahve yet to use those. :)

ooops
no I dont have the folders ... MKS was always a good pedal ... so I would think that these are better than most OEM folding pedals as well
Thanks Thor

The FD-2s are quite heavy, and when folded, tend to flop around since there's nothing holding them in the folded position. They are very solid, though.
See that protrusion in the second pedal pic? That's how much will stick out once the pedals are folded.
In terms of folding pedals, I think there are better and lighter solutions. If I were to look at folding pedals again, I'd get some cheaper plastic ones (won't be able to use toe clips, since the screws will interfere with the folding mechanism).

Skip the folding pedals and take Thor's idea. When I feel like a splurge (i.e. when I "need" this for commuting regularly again) I'll pick-up a pair of the clipless MKS QR pedals. That way from time to time I could use the currently useless flat MKS QR pedals sitting in my drawer of spare parts via the QR mechanism instead of a pedal wrench (I'd rather put on my clipless shoes than mess with that).

You forgot the caveat: make sure you use MKS's cleats. They're slightly different than the standard SPD (M-51) cleats.
