Ok
So I am reading that they are out of the Tour along with a slew of many other riders. I have read some of the cycling articles posted about this happening, also.
My question, however is this: Has it been proven that they did in fact use performance enhancers? OR have they been suspended from the Tour just from their association with this doctor?
I read that Jan was suspended just by association with this doctor and because he lied to T-Mobile about not being involved with said doctor.
Can someone fill me in here on what I am missing?

Very insightful response! Too bad I did that already (as I mentioned).
If you've read the news sites, you probably know as much as anyone else on the forums. I'm not sure anyone knows exactly what is going on. Clearly there is more going on than we know about.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend, but you did not mention that you had read cyclingnews.com . If you google "operacion puerto", you'll get much better info than from a "nobody" like myself, who also tries to stay informed.
The heart of the problem is not anymore, did they dope, or didn't they, but:
a) Dr Fuentes has been arrested for fraud in possession of zillions of blood bags with tags
b) Manolo Saiz, heading Liberty Seguros, was interrogated about why he was in possession of 60,000 euros in presence of Fuentes
c) 200 names of athletes were found in fuentes' office, invoices, doping programs, etc
d) information about all this was NEVER officially commented by Spanish authorities until last night
e) Spanish press revealed parts of the investigation, thanks to revelations made by lawyers, investigators etc. they received parts of docs
f) all riders signed a document to their employers, swearing they never had any contact with that doctor
g) last night the "official" situation of the ongoing investigation was released to UCI, ASO and team directors
h) Riders named in the investigation are OUT...
i) T-Mobile even stated, that they cannot work with Ullrich and Sevilla, because what official papers state totally contradict what they stated
Hope this helped

Oh my god. I heard this when it was first released. Its insane. But you know what I bet every single bike rider on this forum that Basso will plead his innocents and then walk away with his lawyer. T-mobile did an incredibly stupid job by taking Ullrich off the team. They should fight for his innocents.

I'm curious . . . explain to me why T-Mobile "did an incredibly stupid job"?
