Aside from the fact that he potentially faces a lifetime ban after Operacion Puerto settles out, it appears that after his original 2-year suspension ends on September 23rd, he has another couple years of banishment from the pro-tour:
McQuaid also confirmed that Hamilton will not be allowed to join a ProTour team when his ban ends in September. He said despite Hamilton's failed doping test coming in 2004, Hamilton falls under ProTour guidelines because his sanction wasn't finalized until 2005.
"His ban was two years and he's going another two years with the ProTour anyway, because he was sanctioned within the ProTour rules. The ProTour Code of Ethics came in in January, 2005, so he was sanctioned within that, so he has the two years extra," McQuaid said. "Unlike Millar, who was sanctioned in 2004, so he only has the two years, so Hamilton is already facing four."

He's yet to explain why Fuentes was faxing invoices for doping products to a hotel under his wifes maiden name.

sometimes ya gotta wonder why the call it 'Pro' cycling don't ya?......I mean I had a more 'professional' payment scam happening with my LBS so 'she who must be obeyed' didn't find out I'd spent $500 on new cranks! :D

The issue Hamilton prevailed on was the effective date of the suspension. CAS changed it to 2 years from September 2004.

In the military it is called "F-ing up by the numbers".
Tyler is a completely hapless moron of the highest order.
Millar admitted to doping, got his sentence underway, and is now racing in the Tour. I (and his fans), have forgiven his past transgressions.
While Tyler was fighting the "System", the Pro-tour segment enacted a new ruling of an additional 2 years (suspension) bringing the total to 4 career destroying years. Tyler just drew the line from one to two.
By not admitting quilt, and trying to narrow his case to one incident (post Athens), he effectively left the door open to incur a seperate offense that could be gleaned from years of his pro career. 2 to 3.
If tyler would have admitted to doping, and listed all violations, the Fuente debacle would have been accounted for. He would be riding the Tour with Millar, and his fans would be cheering him on. 3 to 4.
Hamilton cannot come clean at this point, as he has effectively painted himself into a corner. 4 to 5.
Involving his wife Haven in the paper trail. Enough said. 5 to 6.
He was bull****ting the people that matter, his roadracing fans. The current believers offer no support. The fools with a "Free Jacko" sign, are the very same type of people that think Tyler is innocent, they cannot support themselves, so how can they support Tyler? He has insulted the intelligence of every person that has the capability to support and forgive him. 6 to 7.

I believe Tyler wouldn't come clean because he didn't want to give up that gold medal. He may have taken the Millar track if hadn't won the gold in Athens, but admitting to doping would have meant giving the medal back.
Regardless their are more athletes to be named and hopefully more DS's to get fired over this mess.
