Without being able to search keywords by 'Title Only', the search function is often useless.

Will this be fixed?

Thanks

I was able to search by title only. Are you unable to do that?

Hi Joe,

I'm not able to search by title only. After entering a keyword (ie, triple) and selecting search by title only and then hitting the 'Search Now' button, the below message is received and refreshing the browser (as instructed) does not help. This happens in both MS Explorer and Mozilla Firefox and only happens when I try to search by title only:

I also get an error message when trying to search by titles.

somewhat related search question

is there any way to do Boolean searches?

I've been trying to find info on riding Old La Honda Road, and mostly all I get are hits on Honda motorcycles.

*bump*

Any suggestions or resolutions?

Hhhmmmmm....weird.

Looks like I'm not the only one getting the error message when searching by title (FinanceGuy and barba are getting it too). Since it works for you and Joe, is it possible that the user settings for mods are somehow setup different? ie, only mod accounts allow for searching by title?

Good point. I'll log out and create a new username and check back.

I don't think I've been able to search by title since I signed up. I have just learned to accept it, though having it fixed would be great.

Strange. I just registered under a new name. Then I tried to search by title. It works. Here are the searches I did:

"Podium Girls" gave me two threads

"Campagnolo" gave me 9 pages of threads

"Road Bikes" gave me 12 pages of threads

"Lance" gave me 20 pages of threads

All these threads were searched for using title only searches. I'm not sure what's up, but have you deleted you cookies? Maybe that's the problem.

Yes, I've tried deleting my cookies and have even deleted my temporary internet files, but to no avail.

I then tried registering under a new name ("searchtest") and I'm now able to search by title, but only when logged in as my new name. So it looks like when I need to do a search by title, I can just log on w/ my new name, as it doesn't work w/ my old name. Weird, but I can live w/ it!!

Thanks for taking the time to scope it out and giving me the idea of creating a new user.

That sounds like an odd solution. I'm going to have a vBulletin tech look into this one, its above my head.

This has been happening since the server move/forum software change. Any fix yet?

I'm not sure if you're asking me for confirmation, but the last time I tried searching (a few days ago), the search function was even more impotent and now it's been totally disabled. I'll try again once the search functionality is re-enabled.

I get a "search function disabled" or something like that when I try to search. How bothersome is that?!
