I have an older 10spd bike that I'm working on and it has crappy side pull brakes, I'd like to upgrade to some VBrakes like these:

Now, I know that I need to weld on some spots to mount these because the old brakes mount with a single bolt at the top center. What can I weld on though? Can you buy the mounting tabs and weld them on, or will I just have to weld some sort of tube on? Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe these would mount without modification?

Keep in mind that the forks may not have the correct structure to be stiff enough for the U brake forces if all the previous loads were in the crown. Also the fork migh conceivably be too light in wall for welding.

Good to keep in mind. I think I will probably go with the second link I put up, here is what they look like:

Well yeah. It should be a direct bolt on right?
