I accidentally won Shimano BR-A550's on Ebay because the Seller said they were 105's. Oh well, lesson learned. I was wondering at this point when Shimano stopped making RX100's. The seller claims they are new, probably new old stock. Are they still worth replacing the tektro brakes I got on a 2005 model bike?

I think RX100 went out of the Shimano line-up with the end of 8 speed if I'm not mistaken. Basically the same as 105 except it looks better in my opinion because of the bright finish.

Loose screws still sells new ones.
The better Tektro brakes are pretty nice and priced well. The low end Tektros are, well, really low end.

RX100 were the street equivalent of RSX, the level below 105/LX. Still decent stuff and nicely finished, just a bit heavier than 105.
