Mountain Biking - backwards bar ends ?

Regarding off road touring:


I had what I think is an epiphany to my comfort problem. I recently had a bike fit, and then a new higher stem instaled. The rise seems perfect, but only during times when I need all of my muscles. When I want to sit upright I would put two fingers on the grip until my hands went numb. Then I realized I could flip the bar ends backwards and get a sweep back bar effect. I went on a ride today with them and cant seem to find any problems, they even look kind of cool. I can see the danger in this if i was riding single track, but for long paved and fire roads it seems to work. Anyone use this on rides? any problems with it?

I see homeless folk riding bikes with two, even three sets of huge (walmart) bar ends stacked on each other, once I even saw some, then with areo bars!

I know that its sounds like a dui job even though this is on a 2000 dollar cannondale. Im going to wrap it in road tape from the bar end to the shifters. It wont even be recognizable.

thats a cool design, but $250?

Are you sure you won't be cutting yourself short on cornering clearance for your knees? Doesn't sound real safe to me. Make sure you've got bar end plugs in so you don't cookie cutter a thigh if you stop fast.

I can't find it on the QPB special order catalog on AEbike or Harris....it must be quite new. Do you have any idea of the MSRP?
