Great Hincapie's in Yellow. But I think it pretty much indicates that he is not Discovery's GC guy for the long run. If you're shooting to win the Tour you don't waste energy taking 2 second time bonuses on the first flat stage, and defending the jersey through the flat stages. So I thin Hincapie needs to enjoy his days in Yellow as long as they last.

Very true, and he's said as much: "I really wanted the yellow jersey. (It was) a big accomplishment for me. If I could hold it for another day or two that would be great."

General Classification.... Lowest overall time. What Lance won 7 times.
As compared to the Points competition for sprinters (green jersey)

Heres hopin for George. Maybe Lance did not go for number 8 to give his loyal partner a chance? Particularily after his recent surgery. He has won so many one day races such as Roubaix. Go George.

It's just cool to see a guy from South Carolina in the yellow...

Yeah, I love how they constantly refer to him as the cyclist from New York. At what point does he get to move to SC in the media?
Like Levi is from Montana and Floyd is from PA, but live/train in California, or live much of the year in Europe.
I'm just nitpicking though. The tour has been great so far.

As much as I love Georgie, he has never won Paris-Roubaix.

FYI...Gorge did not have surgery. The doctors in France said that he needed surgery but when he got back to the US he met with some doctors in SC. They said that he was border line for needing surgery and suggested that if he wanted to ride in the TDF that he forgo surgery and give rehab a shot. That is what he did and it seems to have worked.
As for being in yellow I think that he saw an opportunity to get into yellow with little very little effort in the big picture. That is why Disco did not defend it. Think about it. Snag yellow for all the promo reasons and not have to work hard the next day because it is a sprinters day and they will make tempo to catch any breakaways. Perfect plan. He will start working his butt off in stage 7.
