Does anyone know which hoods are compatible with shimano 600 brake levers? The levers are in great condition, but one hood on my bike is missing and the other is cracked.

My experence is that pretty much any aero hood will work. I think diacomp still makes em.

The Dia-Comp standard hoods don't fit well, they're too short. Icycles.com has them in a "small" size that is longer, and those look like a much better fit--I got a pair to try, but haven't put them on yet. They look really good though, and they're only $5 from those guys. I used the standard ones on my Shimano 600 non-aero levers, and they don't fit well at all. There's a gap where the hood should meet the bar.

If you don't have any luck locally or other online retailers then try Loose Screws for their hoods at http://www.thethirdhand.com/index.cgi?c=Brake&sc=Lever%20Hoods&id=24160667118. They are usually more expensive but they have things that you can't get anywhere else.

eBay usually has a good selection of NOS hoods as well. (New, Old Stock). I got a nice set from an older bike shop locally that still keeps a lot of parts.
