I don't want interfere with the other forum trade threads, but it seems there might be posters over here with stuff that is more commuting oriented and therefore better posted here (such as my Headland seat post rack :p ).

The rules on the other threads are simple: bike stuff only and no money involved, trade only, transactions handled in PM. If everyone plays nicely, the mods might be generous and sticky it as well.

Like I said, I don't want to interefere with another forum or cause a ruckus, but it might be a nice addition. A typical post would be something like this:

Have:
Hardly used Headland Utility-X Pannier (Fat Head Post) Seatpost Rack. Fits on a regular seatpost with a little rubber.

Want:
Non-pannier seatpost rack for regular (road)

What do you think?

Did you know as a red star member you can post in the advertise your services (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=223), for sale (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=213) and want to buy forums (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=222)?

I copied the above from the top of the page. The Market Place Forums (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=193) are enticements to get you to pay for a membership. I've run forums before and they quickly become expensive to keep going.

I think that's a great idea for businesses and people who want to sell. I also think that frequest BF users (such as myself) should consider donating to BF to help with the costs. However this thread -- like the trade thread in other BF forums (see Road and Single Speed) -- would be strictly for trade.

Just something to consider -- if it doesn't work out that's cool too. Although, I really wouldn't mind finding a trade for my rack either way :) .

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread to see where it goes. If all goes well (no talk of $$$ other than via PMs) I may make it a sticky.

I agree with Allen about supporting Bike Forums.

Ok, it's done.
Feel free to post commuting related items that are either free or for trade.

FYI: There are free and for trade items in the Pay it Forward thread....(free stuff) (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=58822) thread in the For Sale forum. You don't have to be a paying member to post there.

<edit> The items I posted in the Pay it Forward thread could be used by commuters, roadies, or mtn bike folks. </edit>

If we're starting a new sticky thread, can we please get rid of one or more? $10,000 bet is over, for goodness sake.

How come this thread wasn't made sticky?
Yet again, us gutter bunnies have been shunned

I have a Gary Fisher Caliber 29- it is a 19" frame. Only ridden a few times. It has a new bottom bracket and chain. The bottom bracket had to be changed because it was sold by Fisher with a bottom bracket that didn't allow it to shift into the smallest chain ring easily- so now that's fixed. For some reason the right hand shift indicator does not show the correct gear all the time. Other than that it's good to go. Like I said, liiterally has less than 30 miles or so on it.

I would like to trade for a Surly Long Haul Trucker, around a 59 or 60 size- or something similar.

Thanks!
