hi!
my name is colleen and i live in san francisco. people here are VERY SERIOUS about their bicycles. its a little intimidating sometimes.
my dad has always been obsessed with cycling, and i started to get into it after he made me watch the movie, "breaking away." cliche, right? my dad bought me a road bike off of ebay as a high school graduation present, 6 years ago. its a univega gran rally, full shimano 600. i've ridden it pretty much it every day since. i can't imagine my life without my bike! i commute 70 miles round-trip each day. i ride 20+ miles on my bicycle (the rest is via commuter train), just because i love riding so much. rain or shine, at 8am monday thru friday, i'm out on the asphalt.
riding so much means that i need to constantly do work on my bicycle, so hopefully this is the right place to be! i want to be able to do all of the repairs on my bike myself. i'm also interested in building bicycles; i have an old nishiki touring frame that i'm converting to a fixie, but i just found out that there is a velodrome not far from here, so i want to build a track bike, too, and start racing for fun. yup!
