Specifically an Acera rear derailleur? Not sure if the ratios are the same...

No, I don't think it will. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Shimano uses 2:1 ratio whereas Sram uses 1:1.

Nope, SRAM X7 shifters will not work with Shimano rear derailluers. However, the SRAM Attack, Rocket, Centera, TRX, and MRX will work with Shimano rear derailluers only.

Front derailluers can be mixed (i.e. you can have a Shimano front derailluer with any shifter.)

no dice sir, SRAM X.7 and up as well as a few others use a 1:1 ratio where as Shimano uses a 2:1 ratio, now as far as front derailleur goes, you'd be fine using SRAM on a Shimano and vice versa.

if you like sram shifters... they make a 2:1 line compatible with shimano rear derailleurs. the 'attack' line looks identical, is equivalent to, and has pretty much the same tech as the x-7 triggers and gripshifts...

but if you're asking about the x-7's specifically, no such luck.

Yes, front derailleurs/shifters can be mis-matched. It's the rear ones that need to be worried about.
