General Cycling Discussion - How to wash fleece

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I have a few fleece sweaters and I've heard that they don't wash very well. What is the best technique to wash fleece?

This is what works for me:
When machine washing fleece, turn the article inside out. This will prevent piling. Use a delicate cycle with warm wash and cold rinse. Wash a small load with just other fleece items.
When hand washing fleece, use Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap. Lukewarm water, and rinse well. Do not wring dry, let it drip dry.
I have no idea if you are supposed to do it this way, but it works for me.
Sometimes I will even bring a small bucket into the shower with me so that I can hand wash shorts and jerseys while I shower afer a ride. This saves much time and keeps laundry from piling up.

Dan
I don't have any fleece sweaters but have a fleece jersey and light-weight fleece outerwear.
I wash them in cold water with regular detergent.
You should turn them inside out and if they are "delicate" wash them in a mesh garment bag.

I dry in the dryer with the temperature set to low heat or delicate. If you're not sure about drying lay it on a towel on a flat surface to dry.
