Ok, I just got a Kona Shred a couple days ago and when I have the Rear Cassette on the highest speed which is (8) the chain skips a little bit...Every other gear is fine though. What could be causing this? Thanks in advance.

It's not perfectly adjusted. There's a little barrel you can turn near the end of your derailleur, it's where the brake cable housing meets the derailleur. Turn it just a bit and see if that fixes it. If you were in 1st in front and 8 in rear (assuming it's got 2 front rings), that's called cross chaining and it's normal.

I would have to say you have a stiff link (if all other gears shift fine)

Go though your chain and feel every link to make sure it is nice and flexible.

It's because it's a kona :D

perhaps the limit screws aren't set right.
Put the bike in the 8th gear. Does the derailleur line up perfectly with the 8th cog? Does it line up correctly with the middle cogs?

when adjusting that little barrel its best to do it in small increments like 1/4 turn, or you could make it worse. if you don't have a repair stand i just put the bike rack on the back of my car and put the bike on it, then pedal with one hand and turn the barrel with the other. if you turn it and it jumps to the next gear then turn it back slowly till it sets back on the correct gear, then turn about 2 more turns just to make sure its on there. i usually do this in the middle chainring and the middle cog, on the last cog it might be more difficult. if you do it on the middle chainring and cog, keep turning it till it starts to want to jump to the next cog then start turning backwards, and count the number of turns it takes till it jumps back to the next cog the other direction, then turn the other direction 1/2 as many turns and it should be perfect. also.. if you just got the bike from an lbs usually they offer free tune ups for a year or something, and even if they don't, it should have come out of the shop well adjusted, so i'd take it back and make them fix it. if you got it used, many shops till tune the F & R Der. and brakes for $10 or $20 its not that hard to do yourself though.
