I like the shifting of my XTR "low-normal" derailleur on my DF bike. Is there any reason NOT to run a similar derailleur on my recumbent? Other than the fact that that the grip-shifter would work backwards, It seems like a non-issue or am I missing something?

Thanks!

I have XTR low normal derraileurs on both my trike and T-Bone. I use bar end shifters. They work beautifully, as advertised. Smoother shifting under load. Quick to get into low gear as you apporach a stop. The "backwards" issue is only a problem if you happen to switch between bikes with the same shifter arrangement, where one is low normal and the other is not.

Thanks, Atom! I'll go with the XTR, then.
