I know its still the middle of the summer but I'm posting the dates for the fall ride so anyone who can make it can get their things in order.I rode a awsome trail today that will be incuded in the riding this fall. It's Clawhammer to Buckhorn gap onto black mtn then down Avery creek. Its a long climb but a about 3miles of Tech, gnarly DH.(way harder then what you have been on before, Gastro) With the seasonal trails open I want to hit those as well. I'll let you guys decide if you want to hit DuPont or not. I need input form you who are coming so I know what to plan for.Flak,Kona are you guys gonna make it? The dates are Oct.20,21,22.Here are some pics from the trail today....

Sorry my dad is slow sometimes. This will be the 3rd southeast forum ride in Pisgah. He also failed to post the dates.....Oct. 20,21,22. Gastro,Hambone,Mtnbiker66,and me will be kinda hosting it. Gastro will have a couple of his friends with him (they rip).We will camp in Pisgah, the only rules are have fun,no attitudes, and you must laugh or grin at least 98% of the time you are here.

The thing that really sucks is no one can keep up with the kid (girlscout13). We may have to leave him at home.

I say make his bike a SS for the trip...might slow him down a little?

LOL....tried that early this spring. I took him on a camping trip in Pisgah and his regular bike was broken. He used his single speed and still shreded about 20 miles of real hard riding. He is a filthy animal. I just hate to think he is going to even get better.

Nah its all good. He'll get better, turn pro, and you'll all be rich! RICH I SAY!

Zip codes and county names are blessed things.

Hell, even a state name would do just fine.

But mapquest without a destination? Well, that's just rude.:)

Wish I could make it! Maybe in the spring when I'll be driving. :D

Are trails downhill/freeride oriented or can an XCer like me with a hardtail 80mm fork survive just fine?

You must pedal up to bomb down. A hardtail will do just fine.

Sounds like a good time. If I can swing it, I'll be there that weekend through Halloween weekend. Bringing the whole arsenal of toys (kayaks and bike). BTW, Halloween weekend is the Guest Appreciation at the Nantahala Outdoor center for you western NC folks. Good deals on biking and boating gear. If anyone wants to ride trails around the NOC (like Tsali) later on that week, I'm down.

You're a good man Gastro. I'll see if some of the local yokels down here want to come play in the mud.

Thanks for the invite.

Sweet pics 66...it'd be fun to get out to the other side of the continent and ride. Hmmmm, I wonder if I could convince my wife to go visit her sister and husband in Atlanta while I ride with you guys?

You know thats what I was talking about. You and your crew are way ahead of me in riding ability. Girlscout had no trouble on his Enduro. You would kill it on yours as well. The climb ids a bit longer but the DH is way longer and better.

I'd love to have a 6" duel squishy to ride down there. Beating someone up the hill isnt nearly as fun as beating them down.

Just started a new job, not sure if I can get the time off.

If I can swing it, I may take a long weekend. Might be able to convince a couple people from down here to come with. You know, share the expense and all.

I'd definately be bringing the Enduro SX, unless you think the XC Hardtail would be better? Hah, I almost typed that all the way without laughing.

My wife is talking to her sister about it right now. If I were to swing it, I'd fly to Altanta and drive from there. Do you guys know of anywhere I could rent something like a Kona Coilair from?

That is assuming that you guys would actually want to associate with a Canadian.

Thats a sweet quote! hehe its true to; theres all those guys that are all making there bike super light and all for the climbs... dont they not relize that the real fun is not going up its going down? heheh thats my opinion anyways.

So how bad is the mountain going to pwn me and my '07 hardrock sport if I come? All stock except for BB7's on front, and eggbeaters.

Im in Birmingham so only about a 12 hour drive. Very tempting.

You would do fine. We have not had anyone leave from one of our trips yet that did not have a wonderful time. I thought we were riding ninja style....
