Training & Nutrition - Knee braces

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone know of a good supportive knee brace made specifically for cycling or at least allows for good movement? Thanks.

I am of the opinion that if you need a brace, you should really be resting or decreasing the distance or intensity to the point it is no longer painful. But this may depend on why you need it. It can also make you dependent on said brace, by limiting the need of your tendons and muscles to support your knee. Since the brace does it, they don't have to. You can end up with a very unstable knee, more prone to injuries. So, why do you need a brace?

My job requires me to sometimes be in an akward position in which my left inner knee sometimes suffers.

Maybe its just because I work at a very large company, but this sort of thing would be unacceptable. We have ergo assessments of our work stations to ensure that nothing causes us pain or injury. Even some of the most dangerous jobs can be made very safe with a little planning and equipment. Sorry, I can't help with the knee brace, which is what you asked for, but I it seems to make more sense to fix the problem rather than put a "bandaid" over it.
