Probably someone like Ben Affleck for the mature LA; same age & stature.

Same age & stature and they both can't act. ButtAffliction has too much baby fat and jowels to be a believable endurance athelete. Plus the fact that he has about as much skill racing the TDF as he does acting, it would make for a 100% crapfest. Not the intro into cycling Joe America needs to see.

There was a TDF project in the works many years ago with Dustin Hoffman in the lead role. Don't know what happened to the project but it probably had something to do with Dustin Hoffman on a bike.

I'm hoping for Audie Murphy. He was great in the Audie Murphy Story....starring Audie Murphy. Is Audie still alive?

We are talking about Hollywood... This is the outfit that put Kevin Costner on a bike in American Flyers in the "Hell of the West" (the Red Zinger / Coors Classic as the backdrop) and the slightly overweight Russian racer with the full beard -- Sergey Beloff? How about Kevin Bacon in Quicksilver? Why on earth would it matter to the idiots in Hollywood who re-write reality to suit their needs every day. The movie's backers are likely to cast anyone who remotely fits the most basic description as lead with a name that would draw in enough of their target US demographic -- which certainly wouldn't be serious cyclists / cycle racing enthusiasts.

LOL. I often thought Ben Affleck looks like Lance Armstrong, but yes, different body type. ANd John Corbett looks a lot like him but he's about 10 years older.

Cuba Gooding will play Lance. Randy Quaid will play Lance's trusted physical therapist and confidant. Mickey Rooney will play the enthusiastic Trek PR man. Dolly Parton will play the misuese (sp?) in charge of Lance's nightly rubdowns. Chevy Chase will play Lance's bumbling chief mechanic. The Morman Tabernacle Choir and Little Richard will provide the moving musical background during Lance's victory lap. Martha Stewart will play the chef in charge of Lance's food. :p

In the scenes where Lance participates in whatever presidential commission that he was appointed to

George Clooney plays Lance Armstrong
Curious George plays George Bush
George Bush plays God

I regret to inform you that the heroic Mr. Murphy passed from this mortal sphere as the result of a plane crash, May 28, 1971. He was 46 years old.
