Hi all, my wife and I are looking to buy a 2 burner stove but have only found the Coleman Exponent Xpedition Stove (http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&catalogId=40000008000&storeId=8000&partNumber=671671&memberId=-2000&link=1&cm_ven=ps_Tleader&cm_ite=datafeed&source=14804&cm_pla=pd_inclusion&cm_cat=datafeed)
What we're looking for is a burner(s) that can handle multifuels.
Does anyone know where we could find one, maybe even lighter in weight than the coleman.
Any tips and/or links would be appreciated.

I think you will be hard pressed to find a light two burner multi fuel stove. Most multi fuel stoves I've seen are made to be as light as possible, thus two burners are out of the question. Your best best might be two MSR Wisperlights or something of that nature if you really need two burners.

There are several posts on making your own small, light weight alcohol stove. A search should turn them up.

You also might want to poke around this site and see if they have something that suits your needs. Good luck.

like ziemas said. two whisperlites or two trangias. maybe there's an old double burner optimus out there but i've never seen one. there is a peak 1 compressed fuel double burner stove, but i cannot recommend it as it uses proprietary compressed fuel cartridges.

two svea climber 123's would be my choice if i didn't have to worry about multifuelability. if you had rudimentary tackwelding skills, you could construct a perfectly useable double stove box windscreen for Svea 123 stove bodies that would be smaller and lighter than a coleman double burner. or you could break down a couple of optimus hunter 8Rs and make a bigger box for them as well.

Two trangia spirit burners could turn a square or round cookie tin into a double burner stove, if you punched enough vent holes in it.

For maximum fuel flexibility, get one Whisperlite International or Dragonfly, and build one aluminum-can stove. That covers you for every liquid fuel on the planet, basically, other than diesel-grades. The alcohol stove will boil water for you nicely and the whisperlite can in principle simmer. Disadvantage is you always have to have at least two fuels, one of them alcohol, but this doesn't need to be a big deal in practice.

If you are looking for a one-stove-does-all I would go with an Optimus Nova. I'd skip the two burner approach, if you need two burners, bring two stoves. That way if one goes down you have a backup. Everything you would ever want to know about stoves can be found here, www.spiritburner.com.
