Hi everyone. I'm leaving a week from Saturday for Mobile, Alambama for my tour to New Orleans. I'm shipping to a shop in Mobile, but am wondering how to transport my trailer. Am thinking about taking the BOB hitch (forks), fender, and tire off, and then shipping these with my bike. I was then going to just strap the BOB bag filled with gear onto the wheelless trailer and then just check it as luggage...has anyone done this? or have a better idea?

Hi,
we've done it exactly like that. If space allows, you can put fork and wheel into the BOB bag as well, otherwise tie it somewhat to the bike.
It has worked for us on several flights. It may be advisory to block the ends that take up the axis of the trailer wheel with a piece of plastic or wood to avoid accidental bending during transport.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to try it and we shall see what happens. Did you take the forks off the BOB?

Hi,
yes we did take the fork off. Either paced it into the BOB bag, or alternatively tied it to the bicycle frame.

Thanks for the info. I just shipped my bike today and I put all the BOB parts, including the fork, in with my bike...so wish me luck. Thanks. Zach
