Hey,

So when I shift from the middle sprocket to the smaller on the front, the chain will sometimes get caught inbetween the two sprockets. It helps if I shift it fast (grip shift), but it still does it sometimes. I haven't noticed a difference when clean or dirty either.

I think it may be the front derailleur, but I really don't know.

It's an xt crank and front derailluer with a sram 9.0 shifter. Not sure what kind of chain.

Thanks!

your shifter should be microadjust, meaning maybe more than one click to get the chain to the smaller ring? either that or try setting the limit screws.

Have the rings ever been removed or replaced on your Crank? Are you sure that the inner ring or the middle ring are mounted correctly, i.e. not backwards? Check that and if all else fails take it to the lbs they will fearlessly lead the way to a solution.

you may be usng a narrower chain than your system was designed for- ie: 6 spd system w/8 spd chain

your chainring may have a slight bend in it

Your chainring may be installed with unneeded spacers

Ride a good gap
