Well, my bike got stolen 2 nights ago and now I must save up for a new ride. I've got $275 so far, and I need about $600 to get the Fit team in Canada. I've pretty much decided on that bike, but while I'm saving I wouldn't mind some other suggestions. I weigh 125 and I'm 5'11''tall, and I want full cromoly frame fork and bars with a Mid bb. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Fit Flow, since you allready are interested in a Fit.

I know its more but you should take into consideration that it has the Flow bars, forks, and frame along with the little things that most completes lack, like a good brake lever(Odyssey) and tires(Odyssey)

Its way worth it.

Especially since you are experienced.

Also buy a bikelock!

You could save up a bit more and buy a Fit Flow. It does however have a longer toptube though.

5'11" is fine for a 20.75" tt.

And we posted at the exact same time, haha. (my other post)

Yes, I noticed the time thing... I was pissed that your post came first and had the same bike I was suggesting... and I was just pointing out that the toptube was longer, I didn't say that that is a bad thing.

I could but the fit flow is like $800 here. I don't want to be saving up for the whole summer. Also I have a bike lock, but when I'm riding downtown I don't have any place to put it. I was on my way home and just stopped at a local Mc Dicks to get a drink. Came out 2 minutes later and that was it, gone. And yea, I'd like to stay at around a 20.5'' top tube, although I don't know if the .25'' more would make alot of a difference. The Fit Flow parts don't really matter to me that much ither as I'll probably end up upgrading to mostly odyssey parts next year anyway.

Haha.

Yeah its not bad, i was just saying that im 5' 11" and i like 20.75", its what ill be getting no matter what frame...

My last frame was a 20, do you think that having the 20.5, or 20.75'' top tube will help with barspins alot?

You won't have to lean back as far... but that could also be solved by cutting your bars...

Not nessiscarrily(sp, haha) If you have a shorter tt then you will be more over the bars, and if you have a longer one, you will be farther back and somewhat behind them.

I think.

Well I had my bars cut down to 23'' and I will do that again with my next bike, I like that size, it's not to long but not too short. I could do barspins in manuals and I can do them out of Q/Ps onto the deck, but everytime I try bunnyhop barspins the bars hit my knees, and thats also why I'm scared to do it over dirt jumps, and other things where you are going fast.

Yeah, I hate that too. I do however have my bars shorter than that, and might even cut them again. I really like short bars, I just might have to try to move the brake lever over, or buy one that goes on the bends.

That's exactly what I said... a larger toptube gives you more distance between yourself and the bars... giving you more room to do barspins.

Well, I went to the local shop tonight, and they had both the Fit team and Fit flow in stock. The fit team is priced at $699, and the flow is at $779, so with that said I think I'll save up the extra $80 and get the flow.

Niiiice. I wish I had a Fit Flow. =[ But, I'm fine with my Fit Pro.

FuzzyRyder

Yeah I looked at the pro too, but I wanted a full chromoly frame, and I wanted the mid bb. I think I'm gonna order it off Albes cause I can get it for $615, rather then $800, I just have to wait a week or two.

yea saving up can be a pain, i was lookin at the flow on dans comp when i was buying a bike, it was under $600 which was a plus, but i dont think i could do a 20.75, but for you it should fit great, its a real nice bike overall

FuzzyRyder
07-11-06, 07:15 PM
Yeah, it will be .75'' longer then my old frame, but I'm hoping I wont hit my knees on bunny hop barspins anymore, and that should give me more confidence on doing them off jumps and other things going fast. Only probly with living in canada is that that bike will cost me $779 if i buy it from the shop, and still $615 + shipping, so around $700 after taxes and what not if I order it. I am going to order though, because after tax in the shop it will be $888.

yea ive rode a 20.75 and a 21, youd think .25 wouldnt make much of a difference but its like day and night for me

I wouldnt worry too much.

My Haro frame has a 20.3" (acording to thier site) and i rode my freinds L.A.F that was a 21" and it even had a shorter backend, i still managed to get used to it in all of 30 minutes.

His bars were just a little chicagoish too, ha.

It shouldnt take you too long.

FuzzyRyder
07-12-06, 02:31 PM
Yeah, I don't care, I've ridden almost everyone I ride with's bikes and thats like 50 guys, and the top tubes all range from 19'' to 21.5 and I could ride them all fine. It's just gonna be weird riding a longer top tube and acctually staying on a longer top tube haha. As long as I get my bunnyhop bar spins down I'll be happy, haha.

R Kritikal
07-12-06, 03:38 PM
yea i was lookin around for a 21.5 i couldnt find anything, and im sure itl make it easier for you on the bunnyhop bar spins, when are you gettin the bike?

I just got a Fit Team about two weeks ago, but I've been working my butt off, so I haven't had much time to ride it. My previous bike was a Haro Mirra 540, and the Fit seems much lighter than the Haro. I wish I could have afforded the Fit Flow, but I got the Fit Team on sale.
