Finally narrowed my choice down to these two sets, anyone here have any experience with either of these? I'm kind of leaning towards the wtb's, but I haven't quite decided. any one got some suggestions??

velociraptors are great all purpose tire and for me they work real well, a bit overkill for hardpark though, Never used smoke and dart

Are you into antique tires or something?
If I had to choose between the two, I would give the WTB's the nod.

naah, I just loved the michelin wild gripper combo that came on my homegrown, and kind of got used to it. When I bought my stumpy, the tires weren't real good if the weather got bad, so I figuered I'd go with what worked......

Both great tires. If I had to choose? Probably the Velociraptors. One of the best all around tires ever made.
I have a set of the panaracers (dart / smoke) on one of my wheelsets. I love them for extremely rooty / rocky terrain. I hate them for hardpack though. For there intended purpose they are great tires. Unfortunately I have never used the wtb's to make a comparison.

I so remember when the Smoke came out and then a year or two later the Dart. I used these tires in the early 90s when I was racing in HS...great for the terrain here in central PA. Must be a solid design if it is still around something like 15 years later I would say.
