Sheesh, that is really rough. I agree with the guy who said to contest the ticket and show up in court. The police rarely do, from what I hear. It doesn't really fulfil any sort of revenge needs or paybacks, for sure, but you could always try to take the high road and think you've got a fabulous karma credit now.
