How do they only chrome a certain part of a bike?
If I want my fork ends and dropouts rechromed, for the PX-10, what is the process? For some reason I was under the impression that this was not possible without chroming the whole frame-

A removable electrically insulating layer of masking material able to support the operating temperature is applied to the area(s) of the work where plating is not desired. This layer will allow the selective plating of chrome over the required areas only.

CyclArt (http://www.cyclart.com/questions.html#chrome4) has a good write-up of the process on their website.
