Kevin Kelly's Cool Tools has a great tip to keep your bike from falling over or rolling. (http://www.kk.org/cooltools/archives/001289.php)

Good idea.

I think a strong rubber band stretched from the drop to the end of the brake lever would accomplish the same thing.

On old toe clip strap works.

So will a pump strap. Works even better with secondary brake levers.

I just use a heavy rubber band as my e-brake. The kind that comes on broccoli bunches works well.

So what do you guys do when putting multiple bicycles on a trunk rack? We did this over the weekend, and ended up having to wrap parts in rags to keep them from rubbing and used a few bungie cords as well as a velcrs strap to keep the wheels from turning. This guy who usually pedals to the traisl is open to advice I don't have to learn the hard way here!

When I travel, my bike rides in the car with me. The Velcro™ strap is just to "…keep the bike from rolling when leaned against something"…
