Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone seen this yet? It's on limited release, I've seen the trailer, and I'm gonna try and catch the movie this weekend. Another movie adaptation of a Phillip Dick story, this time by Richard Linklater, in an interesting animation style. Should be a good one.

You may also want to check out the chamber opera VALIS, by Tod Machover
(on Bridge Records).
It's a fascinating piece of music, not all what you would expect from the dreaded
term "opera".
The movie opens tomorrow. I've got tickets for a midday Saturday performance.

I just saw it last night. Amazing. The animation style is cool and unique, altho i dont watch much animation so I'm no expert to say the least. But however, strong message behind the movie, characters are great, I was a fan of all parts played in the movie.
I especially like the lines from keanu reeves character, FRED.
"What does a scanner see? Into the head? Down into the heart? Does it see into me? Into us? Clearly or darkly? I hope it sees clearly because I can't any longer see into myself. I see only murk. I hope for everyone's sake the scanners do better, because if the scanner sees only darky the way I do, then I'm cursed and cursed again"
Great movie. A must see, to say the least, again.

I was less than impressed, though I was drunk while watching and not high or tripping like most of the kids in the theater with me. If I was younger, probably would have been great.
It did make me want to read the book. I'm sure there's a lot that I missed by only seeing the movie...
It was supposed to be a very difficult story to adapt to film. I thought it was well done under the circumstances. Robert Downey Jr. had some great lines.
i really like the animation style but i cant seem to find in theater anywhere near me is it out yet?
It is on limited release in selected markets.

Great, gonna see it again. The mountain bike riff was hilarious. Don't wait for for the video, must be seen on the big screen.

I was laughing my ASS off! Nobody else in the theatre gets that joke.

Kept waiting for the cartoons to morph into film...
Entertaining movie, until it got to the end and tried to make a point. I have grown weary of movies, comedies especially, that have to make a fell good point at the end. Like Reeve's soliloquy in Scanner.
Did you think it was a comedy? Or that it should have been pointless?

Have you ever read anything by PKD?
A Scanner Darkly wasn't too difficult to follow like some of his work. You may not have a problem, but it took some time for me.
Jeeze, when I opened UBIK I thought I flipped out trying to follow what was real and what wasn’t.
