Hope Flansid wins by 15 minutes. Cadels a cat.

He should stop again and change to his yellow bike

badsac

I only started watching it full on when 24 finished. A mate rang up and said Flandis changed a bike at the top of one of the climbs? Said the commentators said he might be grabbing a heavier bike. Is that allowed? If so why not have funny decending bikes with 125cc GP bike tires on them to rail the downhills then swap out to a climbing bike at the bottom of the hills?

Woo hoo. Yeah. Yeehah. Wooo Woooooo. Go Lanc...Landis. Sorry, caught in the moment.

That yellow bike jinxed Landis.

Evans dropped back that fast back to Periero and co. I thought he was George Hincrapie for a second.

I know, I exaggerate.

Guess the suitcase wasn't quite empty was it now?

Ned Flanders is not Floyd, Ned is that Doc Ray or Doc Oc guy who is crazy
for Cervelo and had the what would Ivan basso do sig. he's a cannuck to boot.

Euro has been served up a nice big plate of crow after his
cackling yesterday, for dessert he needs a nice big ol' slice of humble pie
(like that's gonna happen).

As for the sunglass breakage ugly photo's stuff, they tried to
post the same shiite here but it got removed to the bin.

have a nice day,

Nah, I reckon he was over at Bjaarn's place for dinner the nite before ;)

The only thing I can say in FLandis' behalf is if as
reported he didn't bonk (not good to do that the
nite before a big race either), ok hit the wall,
but he was suffering heat exhaustion or heat stroke
than recovery from that is pretty rapid with IVs
( I did NOT say peds) and lots of water/fluid intake.

Bjarne wasn't too happy today, guess Flandis won't be
over for a barbie (Braii Vlais) tonight.

as muhc as i still dont like the guy, top ride. if the peloton is stupid enough to let him get back that much time they deserve to get beaten.

I still think cadels a chance for a podium. hes not that far off Kloden.

and with news from compact - crank gate i checked last night and its a 39 small ring so at least i manage to mantain some shred of dignity..... dont it? :o

Why did they let Landis get such an advantage?

Respect to Landis for a gutsy ride.

Thought the peleton was pretty shabby in not getting a chase organised earlier tho. Props to O'Grady too for hanging in the break for so long - even when Landis joined them and upper the pace.

Everyone assumed he would crack and just marked time with the main objective - knocking off the yellow jersey.

Pereiro's team wasn't strong enough to counter Floyds break if they wanted too.

It only became obvious that Floyd was likely to carry on when everyone reached the last climb, and then it was far too late.

The whole race so far has been a litany of failure by various teams to capitalise on advantages and of poor tactical decisions.

Pretty amazing stage, though. Caught an interview with Landis on Eurosportnews this morning - if anyone gets Foxtel, have a look and check out the guy's eyes, they are seriously scary.

Hey guys. I haven't been around for a while and probably won't get a chance to come back for a longer while...Mrs Wattsy and I have started separation proceedings. She's a career lady and I'm a bit old fashioned. End result haas been that last few years in conflict about where she should spend her time...Yes Matagi...I know, I should be respecting her right to live her life.

Bottom line is that we had a fight last Thursday and all hell broke loose. Monday night we sat down and had the most difficult conversation of our lives. We have decided to try councelling and are committed to trying to make this work, but I suspect too much damage has been done to both of us. We have been together now for 23 years and she is all I know, so I am pretty devostated at the moment. Fortunately we are both respecting each other and trying to do right for our two kids.

Sorry to bring the forum down, but I'm hoping that sharing some of my burdon anonymously will help...time will tell.

ok ok my cadel evans wet dream is officially over for tour victory (yes i look like a nob now!!!) but i agree he may get kloden. its realistic that they did discount the probability of landis maintaining this wattage all the way to the finish its a logical assumption to make...much like the peleton did with tyler hamilton one year

they all just looked so so tired on last nights stage which is natural. honestly if cadel had of gone out and done what landis did last night i would put my hand up and said - bull**** cadel where are the drugs...

No Tour patron.....first time since 1999. Lots of looking at each other, by both riders and team DS's.
So given that there were only a handful of teams capable of "creating" a patron....why didnt someone standup? Everyone could see Sastre and Kloden are leaders..but the teams dont seem able to control the race?

*Thinks T-mobile couldnt have been this bad strategically if der Kasier was racing..?
*Thinks CSC couldnt have been this bad strategically if der Kasier was racing..?

We're talking about Cadel not having a team but Phonak were generally no-where to be seen in the hills and not in stage 17!

If Ullrich or Basso were racing they would have nullified a bunch of these threats, so as i'm guessing these instructions come from the DS? Why didnt this happen?

My guess is that at this level, 99% of the difference between rider A in the lead group and rider B is between the ears. Having the confidence, both self and from your team-mates/DS, that you are the rightful "leader" of a Tour is what separates an Armstrong or Indurain or Riis from a Zuelle, Breukink or a Bugno.

As I only have examples form the late 80s and 90s to go from :D....I'll use 1991. On stage 13 to Val Louron, when Indurain and Chiappucci rode off to win and Indurain pulled on his first ever yellow jersey, Bugno would say in later years that if he followed that move, he'd have had a different career, implying Indurain's ability to intimdate him (and no doubt, others) in later years by just being in a group meant that any attack was folly. Indurain not doubt exploited this and his Banesto squad of the early 90s is mirrored in USPS/Discovery = wins.

Okay, so I have a Friday full of dramas, Wattsy takes the drama cake and every team in the farken Tour just let Landis go off the front.

Now, I'm not a genius and the guy was 8mins in arears, BUT that was a MAJOR cock-up, even I can see that.

When the telecast started and they said Landis is off the front, I thought "Cool, Sastre, Kloden, Dodger, Evans and maybe Menchov and Chicken and whoever must be with him, cool"

But NOOOOOOO, they let him go off alone.

Stupid gamble, too many indians, not enough chiefs as far as I'm concerned. Never underestimate a freaky guy from bumfück Pennsylvania or wherever. With the power of Jesus, you never know what can happen.
