Australia - New Zealand - The Aussie thread. . . part cinq.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Actually, the NSW contingent race road bikes, track bikes, and MTBs. But due to their geographic location, it makes no sense to venture into the MTB forums. Parts availability and pricing is different down under, and their discussions are usully about local shops and local races.

You actually think I'm going to read your ridiculous thread? My point was, I never saw you before now. So I won't be missing anything if you leave. Won't even notice the difference. It's your choice, its not affecting anyone.

This thread is returned to the forums. It is moved to Foo, since reading through it, it's pretty obvious the majority of the posts are not road cycling related.

As far as what I talked about before, the name calling needs to stop. What you may think is not offensive certainly becomes offensive when used in an angry and belligerent manner. If you can't recognize seppo as an offensive word, recognize at least that when you are upset/angry/belligerent about America or Americans, or whatever is eating away at you, and you use seppo to address us, it is offensive. And that is definitely against the forum guidelines.

Anyway, it's a truce for now, and as long as we agree to disagree, I shouldn't have to return- except to deal with forum guideline violations.

Is this your idea of an apology?

Let me spell this out for you Koffee, maybe you'd like to explain to everyone how nuking an entire thread started by and frequented predominantly by one nationality isn't blantant discrimination based on nationality? Maybe you'd also explain how we're not supposed to be offended by that AND your p¡ss-poor half-arsed attempt and righting the injustice, followed by your equally insulting "now don't do it again" slap on the wrist?

New records in gutlessness and self-rightousness from where I'm sitting. Frankly you don't have what it takes to moderate a forum and Joe should take that burden off your hands as it's having a detrimental affect on the entire forum.

You have to understand your lack of understanding and acceptance regarding cultural differences is not our problem - it's something YOU have to take the time to learn about and accept. You also have to understand that the acts of one do not constitute the acts of many and that that is a simplistic and bigotted approach.

20 mins endurance miles
10 mins tempo
2 mins recovery miles
4 mins steady state
2 mins recovery
2 mins power inervals
2 mins recovery
2 mins power intervals
2 mins recovery

finito.

Thank you Holdenboy. What are miles though? 2 mins recovery miles? I don't recon I could do a mile in 2 minutes. ;)

Hooray! This has been quite a soap opera, can't wait to see what happens next. Will the evil queen put a curse on the lads? Will the beautiful (on the inside) new princess kiss them all and remove the curse, then take them all out for a century ride on shiny new Schwinns? What kind of century will it be, metric or Imperial? What will become of the dashing Sea Amenonite (who indirectly was the cause of all the discord in the kingdom) from far far away? Bannishment or exhonortude?

I gots a bag a popcorn and nowheres else to go, count me in.

I didn't know so many people would miss us so much. :) Kinda reminds how I used to get girls to like me: I would hang around, and hang around, and hang around, then, one day, suddenly stop hanging around. The girl would miss me, only coz I was a permanent fixture, like an old couch, then she'd mistake this feeling for attraction. :D Worked every time

geniunely made me laugh out loud. GOLD!

Wow. There is a thread just for Aussies? Who knew??? ;) :p

BTW, I see a couple of mods posting here. Perhaps you can encourage the use of the Subscribe function for the folks who do post in this thread. That way, no sticky is even needed. The members who post in the thread (or those who manually subscribe to it) will see the thread pop in their User Control Panel when the thread is updated.

If you don't want to see it in your User Control Panel, there is an Unsubscribe button there that can be clicked.

Great function on the board, just not sure too many folks know it is available or how to set it up....

Thoughts? Expatriate? MediaCreations?

I'll step out now.... Signed, An Aussie-friendly Yank. :)

Good idea, though I suggest the 'daily emails' rather than an email for every post. That can get a little overwhelming on some days. :)

I don't get e-mails at all. You can set up subscribe so that no e-mails are sent.

The User Control Panel becomes a great jumping off point at BF, because when you log in, you click on User Control Panel and can see just the threads you have posted in, which have been updated since your last visit. It's a lot more convenient than searching through multiple sub-forums to check up on threads in which you've posted.

Plus, any new private messages show up there, as well.

CyLowe97
08-04-06, 07:23 AM
BTW, The quick how-to on subscriptions:

Click on User Control Panel in upper right corner of BikeForums screen

Click on Edit Options on left side Control Panel menu

Under section Messaging & Notification look for:

Default Thread Subscription Mode
When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.

You can select from there the drop-down box for no email, email for every message, daily email, or weekly email.

I personally have it set up for no email, since going into the User Control Panel pretty much every day negates that need.

Whatever works.... :)
