I married a full Aussie. She's plenty of fun. You two can discuss makeup tips, I have to go to work now.

Hey...I'm a simple girl...lipgloss and sometimes mascara on most days. Paris however, tends to pile the makeup on...a little too much if you ask me. ;)

you dont think i can cut it????? lolnah, it's not that; i'd just like to see someone rock up to the Sunday criteriums wearing a rainbow jersey. :) We can set it up: I'll sit in the pack at the start line with a tape recorder, then you slowly roll down the straight and up to the 'pay desk'. It'll be grouse! :)

Actually, I see plenty of people on Beach Rd wearing the Aus team jersey, so I guess wearing a rainbow isn't that much of a leap :D

did you see PBK have them cheap....i mean i draw the line at wearing the aussie team kit cos that is being a ****** as people may be tricked into thinking i can actually ride....wearing the QS WC jersey i thought was ok as no one would seriously think I was tom boonen out for a spin down to sorrento....

as for the sandown setup....id do it....but only when i can **** all over everyone while wearing it :) ill get back to you in say 3 years? :D

They even had some internationals there racing A-grade during the Comm Games, and they didn't exactly blow everyone away. It's pretty tough

"Word" has it that Sk Kilda and Hawthorn is a bit easier

Week in-week out, Glenvale gets the best crit fields in Australia. Has for the 15 years.

Couldn't tell ya...I haven't turned a pedal in anger in 8 years!!

Although I do see some names on cn.com that really shouldn't be finishing at the pointy end of a supposedely "a-grade" criterium.

I'd like to see some average speeds posted in the results.

Just a few big names missing I reckon Nev, thats all. Agree with Ed. There are a few names that are placing who probably wouldn't have five or ten years ago.

Lots now use it as a training adjunct....Mt Dandy prior, down Springvale Rd to the beach post.

200-250km day, depending on where you live.

obviously CCCC is the 'whos who' club and maybe ill go there and ive heard hawthorn is ok too but im not touching st kilda with a ten foot pole. I cant wait to race though I love a good **** fight :):D

St Kilda is definitely "lesser quality" than Glenvale - not to take anything away fromt he guys/gals racing there - hell, I got my ass kicked in D grade :o :D . But from an observers point of view it is noticable across all grades. Also smaller amount of participants & less "cred" I suppose.

Hawthorn is a bit different becasue it has that lovely little hill on the circuit that a lot of crit monkeys have no interest in hurting themsleves on each lap. Good, tuff circuit though - made for dudes who can sprint uphill to the finish line.

WC jerseyActually, at this time of year, with no racing in Europe, you should whack on the national champion's jersey of some obscure country, put on an accent, get free entry, then sit at the front and see if everyone is too scared to pass you :)

Does Montenegro have a national champ's jersey? I reckon that would be sufficiently obscure for even the keenest cycling fan.

:D D grade can be scary coz of a lack of bike skills from some participants.....
What amazed me about D grade was that I was riding about 40-50km per week (including racing:o ) which obviously was not sufficient to progress far, yet there were other blokes doing 300km weeks and still finishing behind me!

Their 300kms were probably mostly 'junk miles' (i.e piss farting around at 150bpm). Then when they got forced into anerobic in the race got burnt out quick? Not enough specificity in their 300kms - probably! What would I know  :o

Glenview would be more like 46km/h + on a good day. Fast course though. I've raced there B grade (with a fat guts:) ) and the average was just over 44 - and it wasn't that hard.

I saw gerrans on beach road just last week so im assuming hes staying home for the rest of the year....why doesnt he ride any local crits? is he busy prepping already for next season. seems like robbie gives a lot of his time to ride as much of the local scene as he can even if hes not taking it too serious at least hes out and around for the local fans. Im not having a go at simon imi just curious as to why he hasnt been around as much as robbie on the local scene???

Yeah, apparently he rode a bicycle as part of his rugby training....once  and who was that decathlon guy? The crowning moment was, of course, interviewing the NSW Minister for Health - we so needed to hear his inane warblings.

I'd really love to take a stopwatch to that broadcast and work out exactly how much actual cycling footage we got in the entire 90 minutes, 'coz I reckon the answer will be - not much.:(

Robbie has a much higher profile so the crit promoters want him there & so I guess will pay him well just for turning up. He is also a genuine chance to win, wheras Gerro is not a sprinter so crits aren't really where he will shine. I think I saw him in the footage at the crit series up at Noosa & the Gold Coast though.

I think you'll see him at the Bay Crit series too..
