Hello all ~ I'm going to be in Auckland in about another week; can anyone recommend any sights around those parts. Thanks VM in advance...
If you're not afraid of heights, go up the Auckland Skytower - it has glass panels in the floor so you can look all the way down. Other than that, there isn't a lot in Auckland itself, Ponsonby isn't bad for food either if you're looking for places to eat. If you like sailing, and the weather is favourable, then you can go out on the harbour in a former America's Cup yacht.

Sightseeing, Mt Manganui is day trip distance, ditto Coromandel and Rotorua, or head north and check out what's left of the kauri forests. Russell, on the Bay of Islands, is a nice place to stop for the night if you want to do a bit of sightseeing up north.

Hmmm. Not so sure about that. She would be high class trailer park trash. You can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of the girl.

BTW, what's with the screwy page numbering? It's happening on this thread and on a couple of threads I looked at in Road Cycling - I think your database is playing silly buggers.

He deleted it, but I can still read it. It was his guess about Wattsy Rules' new frame weight.

The counters need to be updated, which I think is server-intensive. When are you boys coming back?

He's falling apart, becoming old and decrepit and he keeps doing his hammies.

I've always thought there was more to Uncle Jock than meets the eye.

And I got it wrong, it's his quads he keeps doing, not the hammies. Oh well, I knew it was something to do with legs. :p :p :p

Yup on 2 occasions - first time was a furtive rendezvous on a quiet country road to exchange some Ambrosio rims (we were both heavily disguised to avoid detection).

Second time was on the inaugural northern TAN ride where he made some feeble excuse about trimming his toenails and bailed early.

Although I will be going along to see who gets shoved into the fence in the Pshaw vs Jock "grudge match of the decade" - once the two protagonists stop exchanging witty banter via the forums and actually name a date.

Ah yes. Honestly, I understand very little of what Pauly says. He was talking about a "bake shop" on a ride for a good 5 minutes before I realized that he got his "bake shorts" at the "bake shop". Bloody Scots. :D Jock's got a thick accent too, but I could usually understand him. Would this be a track event?

matagi
10-05-07, 06:24 PM
Yep, it's going to be track event. Adcock Park, I think, both parties are talking big so I expect the whole thing to be a total fizzer. :p

Alby Mangels is the guy as Brian said. Best known for the attractive bikini-clad companions that invariably found their way into his films. Lives a very reclusive life these days although one of the local TV channels did a "where are they now?" type show and apparently tracked him down to Adelaide in South Australia.

That probably means that some were deleted, but the counters were not updated. I don't touch the DB though, I just piss people off.
