Way cool. Is she the patron saint of cycling? Bikes are fantastic, but I think the chains might not be the best thing for the finish. Is that Moser's hour record bike?

yes the Madonna di Ghisallo is the patron saint of cyclists.

and I bet I'm not the only non catholic cyclist who would adorn
at least 1 bike with a headtube medal.

beautiful, fantastic!
love Eddy's and Gino's bikes - they seem so delicate compared to modern gear
one place I;d still love to ride to
do you have pics of the surrounding countryside?
thanks so much for these!

Unfortunatedly not. It was a family trip. The road up to the church and following to Belagio was incredible.

I'm a recovering Catholic, but what the heck, I'll get a medallion of the Madonna. Hey, when I go surfing I pay homage to Yemaya and Ochun, the Afro-Cuban Gods of the oceans and rivers. Can't hurt, right?

What a disappointment to see these photos. There is supposed to be a new cycling museum built right next to the chapel. Fiorenzo Magni is the one in charge of the building and collecting of items for eventual display. In theory the museum was to have been built many years ago and then there was "Tangentopoli" (big political bribery scandal that shook all of Italian politics and stopped many non-essential cultural and sporting events.) Then it was supposed to be ready for the 2006 Giro and there was even a stage that visited Ghisallo... Hopefully the real museum will be completed some day in my life.

If you do go there, go to the bar about 200 m from the chapel and you can buy a medallion.
