Classic & Vintage - Any tips on avoiding a "snakey" tubular glue job?

In my limited experience and attempting a second gluing of my tubulars, I would say that stretching the tire on some spare rims at a very high PSI is important so you don't have to wrestle with the tire trying to get it onto rim. I didn't do this the first time and wound up losing 5 lbs trying to battle to get the tire on , let alone straighten it!:p
If it is stretched out properly, the tire will pop on and you can spend more time aligning it before the glue gets to dry?
More tips?:)

We have a whole sticky thread full of tips and suggestions. Try reading through "totally tubular". If properly stretched, a tire won't simply "pop on", but it will go on a whole lot easier.

In general yes. I like mine to be tight but not impossible to get on. You can also stretch the tire by hooking one end under your feet and pulling on the tire with your arms. It will stretch very quickly, but go slowly, you can easily overstretch or rip the tire.
Masking tape on the brake surfaces of the rim makes clean up so much easier.
