Cyclocross - why do so few shops carry bianchi?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If you're in Canada, it's because the distributor quit and there's no replacement yet. If you're in the states, who knows - maybe Bianchi is a cluster**** across all of North America.

A new bike shop just opened in my town and they carry Bianchi. I rode a Giro today and absolutely loved it. I've been to several other shops in my area that carry Bianchi as well.

Bianchi seems to be screwed up all over North America. My LBS carries Bianchis and have been an official dealer forever (and still are), but for some reason they were taken off the Bianchi website. Their online customer service never gets back to you. Their new product year models take forever to reach the states. The only touch up paint color you can get is celeste.
But you gotta admit, they make one heck of a bike.

Bianchi is well stocked and well supported at my small neighborhood LBS.

it is crazy. i just bought the bianchi veloce and the bike shop is not on there list. he said he could order it. i will get it next week and i am pumped. i just couldn't find a specialist for it where i live in DC area. i was getting nervous that there was something wrong everything seems to be trek, giant etc... i think it is odd that the market place around here does not support bianchi which is supposed to be awesome. you would think trek is good and all but why do they dominate so much if bianchi is the better bike? crazy...

they might carry the bikes but from what i saw griffen in bethesda and hudsan trail outfitters were the only ones in the area. the top shops in georgetown and md and va dont. i thought it curious that everyone raves bianchi but few are listed as authorized dealers.

My LBS used to carry Bianchi but Bianchi dropped them because they weren't ordering the "minimum # of bikes" for the year...... in other words they are trying to "encourage" bike shops to order more or they will be dropped.... I've got one Bianchi and had another on order, but it got canceled.

Yes, that's what I was going to say. Right now they've got a shiny new Bianchi Axis in the window, and if you go in you'll see about half of one wall is Pistas, Castro Valley, and that single speed cross dealy-o.
I even bought my Celeste handle bar tape there. :)
