Touring - cycling tibet & northwestern china

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey all,

Almost two years ago - as someone who didn't own a bike and who had never been on a bike tour - I started reading this forum because I was obsessed with the idea of cycling the Silk Road someday, and I figured this was a good place to start learning how to transform the dream into a reality. I'm writing this now from an internet cafe in Tibet - I've been biking around western China for almost three months now, and just in case anyone is interested, I wanted to post the link to my online journal:

http://cyclingsilk.blogspot.com

Also, the website for the trip is http://www.cyclingsilk.com.

Thanks all for the inspiration and education!

cheers,
Kate

Would it be insanely stupid to do a trip like this on a Fuji touring bike with 700c wheels??
