Mountain Biking - las vegas riding

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i'll be in vegas at the end of april and want to do some riding. anyone have any info? are there any tour companies that offer 1 day rides? i'd rather not do a tour group, but i don't like riding alone in unfamiliar territory.

There are a couple of good bike tours and great trails out there according to friends. The owner of the LBS goes every year and the group they use picks you up at the hotel, takes you to the trails and brings you home. He says it's great. I'll find out the name of the one he uses and email it to you. You'll love riding out west, it's totally different from the east coast. I've ridden in Phoenix and had a great time. I took my own gear including pedals (and a wrench), a Camelback that you will need, tools, patch kit, etc. Just rented the bike. Good luck, wish I was going!!

I answerd this for WorldIRC also. Check out Bootleg Cyn. It is just out side of Vegas. Any shop in Vegas can tell you how to get there. Great place to ride.

The owner of the LBS said the place in Vegas was called Escape The City Streets. He's looking for the brochure, I'll see if there is a web site on it the next time I'm down there. They come highly recommended.

Either Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City (about 20 min from Las Vegas), or Blue Diamond (about 20 min as well).
