Professional Cycling - The Tyler feature on OLN Fri.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Didn't pay any attention to all the doping talk....
Two observations:
1. Could that guys eyes be any more blue?
2. Haven looked HOT!

Haven looked HOT!
Duh!
She's a babe.
...too bad all of the circumstantial evidence is so overwhelming. :( I tried to believe Tyler for a long time, but it just keeps getting deeper for him. Now I wish he'd taken the David Millar route of mea culpa. If he had, Tyler would be gearing up for a return this fall.

i do not find her even slightly attractive, maybe because that little sh*t tyler is in the pictures with her that i have seen.

It's one of their features during coverage of the stage.
You'll see it on the replay tonight.
Yeah, CyLowe, I realize that now!
I never really saw her before today.
I too wanted so badly to believe in him, after the whole collar bone thing....but alas.
I fear the same thing happening with my Italian boy toy Basso now too.
But who needs them now anyway?
I've got Floyd "I'm getting a hip replacement like Hipcycler" Landis to cheer for now.

I'm really disappointed in Tyler also. I too, really tried to believe him, even that thing about the two kinds of blood cells being produced by one body.
Imagine looking her in the eye and seeing the hurt. Too bad he didn't think of that first. :(

She's hot :D
Hearing him still denying everything pissed me off ... what a tool, I guess he thinks we are all dumbasses. Plus the whole OLN crew basically ducked the whole issue and didn't say anything about him at all. *******

I watched a few minutes of the interview. It was not interesting to me.
Haven sat closest to the interviewer and did most of the talking. Tyler did not say much and when he did it sounded rehearsed and scripted. He did not talk with conviction but came across as insincere.
Some of the things they said were insulting to the viewer. Like saying (paraphrasing) "it took us two years to understand the mechanics of doping." As if to say Tyler was ignorant of what he was doing and being led along. Trying to make the case that Tyler is a cyclists and not a chemists therefore, he was not fully aware of what he was doing.
The interviewer did not ask the obvious questions so as to expose the holes in their weak defense.
At least Haven was trying to stand up for her guy.
Anyway, the segment went on this way and I stopped watching it.
Most glaringly absent was any mention at all of Operacion Puerto--Even if the UCI doesn't force a suspension, I think old Tyler is going to have a hard time finding a job. At least I hope so...

I mean, I guess if I ever had a doping manager, I'd want her to look like that too...
The dynamic between Tyler and Haven is weird. I can almost hear the pre-interview conversation--"OK, Tyler, just keep your mouth shut and I'll answer the questions. Go put the syringes away."

That's exactly what I thought. She might be good looking, but she really bugged me.

His wife.
Her involvement reeked of being a PR move meant to garner sympathy. It reminded me of the proverbial supportive politician's wife after the guy has been accused of fooling around. You know she's secretly pissed as hell and believes the rumors but puts on the happy act because she knows that playing the "we're defending this together" role is better for her livelihood.

I'm sure that interview was before his name was leaked.

She had that underlying tone of "im so sick of having too keep this BS up" in her attitude.

So Tyler was on the list? I haven't followed the story all that closely (aside from just the obvious impact it's had on the Tour)

Oh, not only was he on the list, but the Spanish News released copies of his entire doping/racing schedule, right down to the individual doses of HGH, EPO, transfusions, etc., and an itemized receipt handwritten by Fuentes addressed to "Haven" that covered all of the recent expenses in supplies and services.

That was faxed to her, using her Maiden name at a Hotel in Girona where they were staying...
But like they said, its "complicated" ;)

Yeah--maybe she was paying Fuentes to help TH eliminate the second type of red blood cells his body was producing. Or maybe it was just routine preventive care for his elusive twin...
Yeah, "complicated." ;)

That was the other thing that pissed me off ... they still ran that spot that was obviously recorded months ago, and then current events makes them all look even stupid. OLN must not have wanted to waste the $$ they put into it. And then all the talking heads just sat there and made appropriate cooing noises. I would have expected it from Al Troutwig, but I lost some respect for Phil, Paul and Bobke.
Enjoy your gold medal you cheater ... hope your kids feel proud of how you got it.

I think you're looking for "Complicit". Mrs. Rumsas, I'd like you to meet Mrs. Hamilton.

Holy cow. That's HUGE! Gonna have to follow THIS little side-story.
she was profoundly annoying and shrewish in sort of a lady macbeth way

It's pretty clear the segments were taped before the recent Puerto implications. I think that airing them now within the shadows of the results from Puerto have served to hurt Hamilton even more.
I wonder why they just didn't update their segment already- follow through with a post interview after the "List" was revealed. If the Hamiltons chose not to respond, then at least updated with some kind of news to the original interview. It just seemed so strange that they were putting up this older interview and not following through. Odd.

Well, they ARE still running spots on other cable networks about whether Ullrich or Basso will be the "next king of cycling..."
It's quite strange.

Hey, we're talking about OLN. During Tour coverage, by Week 2 "the only thing new is the Tour". Their marketing staff is a lot like my yearbook advert staff in college: Work real hard to get the first four pages paid for then use pictures of cheerleaders for the rest. ;) I think they set the Tour line-up in March and forget about it until August :D

From Tyler's site:
"June 26, 2006
I was very upset to read the accusations against me and to see my name associated with the "Operacion Puerto" investigation in Spain. I have not been treated by Dr. Fuentes. I have not done what the article alleges. In addition, I have never been contacted by authorities in Spain regarding these allegations. Therefore, it is impossible to comment on a situation I have no knowledge of. "
This is just absurd. It's like he has Johnny Cochran for a lawyer: "If it worked for OJ, it'll work for you." Please. He hopes to ride for a team to finish the 2006 season. Here's hoping no one touches him.

My e-mail to Tyler (I finally got mad when I heard he was implication in "Puerto"):
"Tyler,
My mother was diagnosed with MS about 5 years ago. Initially, I was pleased to see that you also represented the cause. Now? You're simply an embarrassment. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary and failed appeal after failed appeal, you maintain your innocence. It's patently absurd. If you had come out and admitted the truth, I would still be firmly on your side as would many, many others. Unfortunately, your continued insistence that you had no clue what was happening, even after the recent revelations in "Operacion Puerto", have damaged your credibility beyond repair. I am ashamed and embarrassed to have you as an "ally" in the fight against MS and hope you will bow out gracefully as those of us with some shred of dignity left carry on the fight.
-Carl J. Stoneham"
Of course this was before I saw the drivel he's typed up on the "Tugboat Tags". My second e-mail...
"Tyler,
When I sent the last e-mail, I had not yet seen this quote with reference to your "Tugboat Tags":
Even if you think you are facing insurmountable odds. Whether it is a diagnosis of MS
Or a doping allegation
How DARE you mention your doping allegation in the same sentence as the fight against MS!?!?!?! Your arrogance knows no bounds! Your doping allegation is NOTHING compared to ravages of Multiple Sclerosis. For you to mention your disgrace in the same sentence as others' fight for their very lives shows you have NO honor WHATSOEVER! Stop associating your shame with others' genuine tragedy. Think what you want in your mind, but do NOT taint the fight against MS with it. You DISGUST me!
-Carl J. Stoneham"
