I recently replaced my rear tire and tube due to some low pressure wear that occurred while on my wind trainer. (I rode for awhile without noticing that I lost a ton of air and that f'd up the rear tire side walls until I could see the metal weave under the rubber.) Anyways, I put on my new Hutchinson and got it back on on the bike only to notice that it spun true almost all the way around except for one area on the wheel. Could this be a spoke tightening problem? Or is my rear wheel done?

I took it off the bike and spun it in my hands and saw the same thing..... The bike is 6 months old and hasn't been tuned yet by my local shop.

Any thoughts?

Wheel truenes is the RIM braking surface relative to a fixed object like a brake pad. If that's what it is, it's no biggie and is an easy fix.

That doesn't seem to be the case. When I spun it in my own hands while holding onto the rear cog (cassette...which ever) it wobbled slightly in a small area of the rim.

Never mind...I spoke to my LBS and they confirmed that it is a spoke tightening issue...phew
