I bought an older model (90) Burley Tandem about three weeks ago.
Since then I bought a rear wheel, replacing the 6 speed Suzue - drum brake, with a Mavic/Edco - Shimano freewheel. It has holes for a disc brake, but obviously the frame does not have the correct mounting capability for the brake.
Is there a retrofit solution for these older bikes to get to a disc brake?
My 5 year old and I are currently the only riders, and we won't be heading into the hills anytime soon, so I'm not terribly concerned that I don't have the drum brake, but it might be nice to get a good brake solution in place at some point.
