General Cycling Discussion - need help building a ohio bike website

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Any one in ohio who would maybe be intrested in helpign me to build a web site for bikign in ohio fire off a ost here and let me know. Ive been surfing all morning and find lots of hit and miss info lots more dead sites others leading to spyware domains.
What i have avail full domain name not for bikes Joe
http://spellbound-guild.com
I have this for space monthly transfer etc more if we should need it
Disk space 44.8 MB 250 MB
Traffic 29.7 MB/Month 2.44 GB/Month
Subdomains 0 3
Web users 1 1
Mailboxes 3 10
Redirects 2 5
Mail groups 0 5
Autoresponders 1 5
Mailing lists 0 3
Databases 2 2
Java applications 0 Unlimited
The domain and hosting does not expire.
Like i said i can get more disk space tfer etc should we need it. If the site turns out nice and gets some popularity we can move from a subdomain to a full domain quickly.
I was thinking forums for sure all ohio specific apping and maps for trails and good road routes. As for grammar spellign etc that will be much better than in this post hehe.
I know theres alot of people on these forums from ohio who have also noticed the lack of easy to find information regarding ohio cycling. We seem to be a pretty sscatered bunch here in ohio.
Ill also be putting a nice link for bikeforums probably a banner of some sort (i hate big blank spots on the top of web pages)
Could likly use xoops as i have on my site now for most of the page. I want to try and keep all my content hosted on my own host no links to like gmaps but instead if possible has the maping applet right on my site it self.
As for cost of my site unless it gets huge no one need pay any thing (my hosting is free of charge got to love good friends and contacts)
To mods and admins if this is against the rules please let me knowand ill remove the post my self.

Found both those previously. Great if your a mountain biker not so great for roadies though.
No one intrested in this at all? I want it to be primarly aimed at north east ohio cyclists but will want to include contend for the entire state. Things like road bike rideable trails the various marked bike routes. Good maps of the local parks bike shop listings the works.
How many "roadies" ride bike trails on a regular basis? The only times I ride them is if I am out with the wife. Or as part of a night loop on my Cyclocross bike.
oh yea wayne county here

Well i ride the tow path quite alot realy. I use it for just riding and as a meathod to get from here idown to massiloon for example.
And where about are you in wayne Im in summit county barberton.norton. Im about say 2.5/3 miles from eastern rd and portage street in doylestown.
As for the web site it wouldnot just be trails etc but also shareing routes trying to get some organised rides togather. Maybe a place to air complaints of things like stop lights that wont trigger and figuring out who the heck is responsable for them so we can get them fixxed. As we all know often one person reporting a screwed up light does nothing yet when 3 4 or 5 do so they listen.
In other words a single site where we can talk about isues specific to this area or north east ohio and ohio in general.
Thers a couple sites out there but they mostly deal with a single aspect of northeast ohio like rails to trails thats ohio wide. Or sites with bike shop listings and tips on bike repair. Or state wide cycling advocacy. I sware though if you plot these sites on a map there is this big empty spot where wayne summit medina and stark and a few other counties should be.
For example can you tell me where the nearest marked bike route is and how to get there?
(i already know but only because i ride along it about once or twice a week)

you might want to check these guys out:
http://summitfreewheelers.org/
I'm not affiliated with them, but they must be pretty active doing group rides, etc, because I see their jerseys all the time when I'm out for training rides in the CVNP.

Yeh i know about them even road with a couple las year out on a plesure ride but they are a racing club.
"Located in Summit County, Ohio (Akron), the Summit Freewheelers is the area's leading bicycle racing club—the largest promoter and sponsor of bicycle racing in the area!"
Again this isnt realy what im looking for or to do with my site idea. More of a way to find riding partners and advocacy type stuff.
If i was a racer these guys would be the ones id choose. But me race heh probably never gona happen. Im 34 goign on 35 and doubt my knees would take the strain of racing.

I dontk now that Im really a hard core roadie but I ride my mountain bike on the greenway system here once or twice a week. Nice way to avoid traffic and it's pretty easy to rack up 30-35 miles on the trails.
