Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Search isn't nearly granular enough

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm having a frustrating time searching the site.

I'm trying to find compound phrases - let's say 'soma rush' - in the fixed-gear/single speed forum.

Typically, if one encloss those words in quotes, then the search engine will return them as if they're a single word, as the space doesn't exist... so you only find 'soma' right next to 'rush'.

That doesn't work on BF. No matter what kind of delimiters I try (enclose in quotes, joined by a '+', etc.) each word is searched for independently. That makes searching for a very specific thing - i.e. 'soma rush' - very frustrating, as the results are drowned in posts that talk about other Soma bikes, or other brands like the Raleigh Rush Hour.

I've searched through the site Help and FAQs and can't find any extra advanced search documentation.

Am I missing something? If so, please help. If not, is more granular search something that can be enabled?

Thanks.

Use Google. I got 336 relevant results when I typed the following into the google searchbar:

site:www.bikeforums.net"soma rush"

If you have Google toolbar, there's a dropdown menu that makes this even easier, since you don't have to type in the site delimiter, assuming that you're already viewing BF.
