An all girl cover band?!?!?
An all girl cover band?!?!?
Sorry, slight slip of the finger. Although, inadvertantly a nice gimmick. Surprised no one has tried it yet. I sure it would fair better than Dread Zeppelin. :D
David Bowie - "Laughing Gnome"
Whiter Shade of Pale - Procol Harem
^^^ Someone's not trying hard enough. You CAN do better :)
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Just plain creepy, dude!
more of an instrumental by the Allman Brothers
Jessica.

Van Halen and Bowie is classic rock?
Over the hills and far away...Led Zeppelin
or
Time...Pink Floyd
too many to list.
Satisfaction by the Stones would be a good place to start, though.
Baba O'Reilly by The Who.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps by the Beatles. Not only could George play a little guitar, his best mate Eric could too.
Dust In The Wind - Kansas
or
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You - Led (the 12 string acoustic...)
Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild
Who - My Generation
Classics IV - Spooky
Them - Gloria
Doors - Light My Fire
Venus - Shocking Blue
Day After Day - Badfinger
Stairway to Heaven.I agree. The song has been much maligned because it spent so much time on every "greatest rock songs list" published. However, IMHO, it is the greatest rock song ever recorded. I particularly love the live version.
SB
Going Down For The Last Time - Head East
^^^ Someone's not trying hard enough. You CAN do better :)
HAH! But Stairway got another vote! How about Black Dog? Or U2's All I want is You? Satisfaction? One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer?

But, but but... all I hear is but. What is this an ass factory ?!?!
Zep, while a excellent band comprized of benchmark musicians, vocalists and lyricist, IMHO suffers an unfortunate demise due to over exposure. SWTH is probably one of the all time greatest rock songs ever laid down on tape, sadly our wonderful AOR commercial FM radio stations have played the life out of the song. How long can a song be played 5 to 9 times a day during peak listening hours and still retain favor? I've heard that masterpiece served up so many times in the 35 years since it's release that I get physically ill when I hear it today.
U2? To quote Frank Zappa "Eddie are you kidding?" Excuse me while I hurl. "Uno, Dos, Tres, Catorce" WTF?
OB, OS, OB... Yeah, George Thorogood rocks and he's a local boy to boot :)

Led Zepp I & II were the best. Most people pick songs off Led Zepp IV because it has the most radio play.
SWTH has backward masking?
Oh here's to my sweet Satan.
The one whose little path would make me sad, whose power is Satan.
He'll give those with him 666.
There was a little toolshed where he made us suffer, sad Satan.
Going Down For The Last Time - Head East
Great song.... the real title is "Never Been Any Reason."

What is this an ass factory ?
SWTH is probably one of the all time greatest rock songs ever laid down on tape
So you agree with me? Thats 3 votes!
Whats an ass factory?
No, the question posed by Op was not BESt, but rather FAVORITE. Tho' while quite possibly being the best, SWTH is not my favorite classic rock song.
It's where they make asses, stoopid
You are right. Favorite is the point. And SWTH is probably my favorite, although today I will most likely hear something on the radio and tippy tap my foot to that.
All these asses are being built for the purpose of?
Great song.... the real title is "Never Been Any Reason."
You beat me to it
Uriah Heep- Easy Livin'
J.Geils- Musta got Lost
5 Man Electrical Band- Signs
REO Speedwagon- 157 Riverside Ave
Rush- Lakeside Park
Led Zepplin III - my favorite Zepplin album
"Every Picture Tells A Story" by Rod Stewart is another one.
It sounds like an extension of his stuff with Faces from the early 70's. Every time I hear it's like rediscovering how much fun those ugly guys from Britain could have if the learned how to rock. Faces were such great band. Rod's such a lame-o now.
Favorite line from the song... "My body stunk, but I kept my funk!"
Great song.... the real title is "Never Been Any Reason."
Thanks.
No Quarter - LZ (did Robert Plant invent the moan?)
Thanks.

Michael McDonald killed the Doobie Brothers.

I heard the Stones' "Dead Flowers" at lunch today. Add that one to the faves list.
The Who -- "Miles and Miles"
The Beatles' version of "Twist and Shout"
The Kinks -- "Lola"
Pink Floyd -- "Comfortably Numb"
Queen -- "It's Late"
Which one wins top honors depends on my mood that day.
Hendrix - Purple Haze, Wind Cries Mary, Fire, Voodoo Chile
Joan Jett - I Love Rock and Roll
Purple Haze. Brings back great memories. On one organized bike tour, each AM to wake us up- organizers played Purple Haze over the pa.. Great wake up toon..
But, classic rock. I consider classic that lite crap. Purple Haze is not lite.
